LaMaison began with a single question we carried home from our own travels, what small, quiet detail could turn an ordinary moment into one you keep.
We are Andrea and Matija. After years of a fast city life, what we wanted most was a place to rest and to spend real, unhurried time with the people closest to us, and so we built LaMaison new, in the medieval village of Sveti Petar u Šumi.
The idea grew from the small things we had always wished for on our own journeys, to arrive and find everything already waiting, a full larder, a dinner ready, someone who knew our name and how we took our coffee. We built the house so that a guest of ours would find exactly that, every time.
So LaMaison holds one group at a time, the only company around you the company you bring, and a level of care that stays quietly in the background while you give your attention to the days themselves. For us this is what luxury means, slow living made real, every detail considered in advance, so that you can ask for whatever comes to mind and give the rest to rest itself.
Our hope is that LaMaison becomes known for the stay itself, carried by word of mouth, and returned to year after year.
